Today, Alex from Hellorandomluck is sharing a tutorial for making this Monet Garden Moon Pendant.
Tools you’ll need:
– Wire cutters
– Needle-nose pliers
– Six-step pliers
– Ring mandrel
– Twisted wire
– 0.3mm wire
– 0.8mm wire
Step 1: Making the Moon Frame
Take about 15cm of twisted wire and straighten it.
Wrap the twisted wire around the ring mandrel to form a perfect circle.
Use needle-nose pliers to bend both sides of the circle into pointed tips, creating a crescent moon shape.
Adjust the curve of the tips carefully to refine the shape.
Tip: Be gentle while bending to avoid damaging the wire coating.
Wrap the twisted wire around the ring mandrel two more times to strengthen the frame.
Remove it from the mandrel and bend the extra wire in the center to secure the structure.
Now the basic moon shape is done!
Step 2: Making the Moon Clasp
Use six-step pliers to create two loops at the top of the frame for the clasp.
Leave a bit of extra wire while cutting to make it easier to adjust while securing the clasp.
Adjust the moon frame to make it look as perfect as possible.
Once satisfied, trim off the excess wire.
Your beautiful moon frame is now complete!
Step 3: Adding Gemstones
These raw stones were pre-selected to fit perfectly within the moon frame.
Feel free to design your own color combinations and styles for a unique look.
Take about 15cm of 0.8mm wire and straighten it carefully.
Attach the 0.8mm wire to the moon frame. Fix it at the key points to hold the frame securely.
Place the first gemstone and wrap the wire around the frame twice to secure it.
Repeat the process for all the gemstones.
After securing the last stone, trim off the extra wire and finish the ends neatly.
The moon gemstone frame is now complete!
Step 4: Decorating with Beads
For the beads, I used tourmaline, faceted amethyst, tiny tourmaline beads, peridot, amethyst and rose quartz.
Use 0.3mm wire to create floral and leaf decorations. Secure these onto the moon frame.
String and wrap the beads according to your design, filling the moon frame with the chosen colors and arrangement.
Final Touches
Add additional embellishments to further decorate and enhance the pendant.
Your Monet Garden Moon Pendant is now beautifully completed!
